why do you like treyjade so much? what is the thing about that relationship that draws you to it, and what is it that draws them to each other?

honestly this is why i keep thinking that i am not the best person a person can get their supply of treyjade from i don't have enough braincell to deliver them justice, bcs both of them are intellectual individuals in disguise that needs deeper clever writing INSTEAD U GOT THEM IN WHATEVER MESS I WROTE THEM IN FHSDH, that's why it's hard to understand how lovely their dynamic can be.

To start, these are their similarities. They have same vice duties. Jade loves growing things at botanical garden, Trey is in science club which also spends time at botanical garden. Trey bake, Jade brew tea. Trey cook, Jade eat. Simple enough.

And when they are together...

I love that Jade is completely off work/butler mode when with Trey. He is just a very spoiled someone who is very tired and just wants to be comforted with Trey. And of course Trey can be comforted the same way. This is easily one thing that brings connection between them.

Here's what my favorite couple is usually about. I can easily see them as adults that gets into meaningful long lasting relationship. Thanks to the japanese fandom, they are usually drawn in domestic relationship. Just living in the same house, spending their comfortable life together as an adult couple.

Jade can sense there are more under Trey's normality mask. If u consume more smart writing from other artists, Jade is /that/ curious about Trey that he tries to make Trey mad to see how it is if he loses his composure.

But Trey being actually smart, he can actually repel or counter Jade's taunting attempt with underlying smarter move. Which makes it even more interesting to Jade to keep on trying.

And another certain artist has Jade actually convincing Trey, that he doesn't have to stay normal, because he knows what Trey truly wants is abnormality. Trey just stays normal, because after getting Riddle in trouble & stirring trouble with Riddle's mom, it kinda traumatized him in a way. so in this other case, Jade just knows Trey is as messed up as Jade can be if Trey just let himself free, and he wants to unleash him & be (evil) partner hand in hand.

♡♡♡ Well, it's a secret. But Trey is actually bolder than you think. He is not easily repulsed or disgusted as you think. He would even break a 'law' or two to do things with Jade, like ... doing it in the school ground. (Riddle would be so mad, don't tell him) Which make them actually able cater on each other desires & quirks.

This might be similar to the previous questions ago, but to me, they are more of themselves when they are together. They break from their usual duty masks. Trey is not just caring others out of responsibility. He actually have great fun feeding Jade and seeing him eats.

And Jade is not just following behind like a serving servant. He actually wants to be a baby girl, get on to Trey's lap, be patted, and bury his head over Trey's shoulder. AND U SHOULD LET HIM!! FSHDSHD

Jade is so beautiful, how can he resist ? Despite being so dangerous, Jade is so ? C u t e ? ? how can he resist ? ? Does mermaid just naturally chant enhancement on human? O H , how can he reisist ? ? ? ? A R E H I S G L A S S E S J U S T F A U L T Y ? ? ? ? ? ? Oh Trey. Keep on guessing.

Mountain hiking? Camping? Cooking? Planting things? Alright, let's go. Outdoor wear Trey's lines said, "People get to research whatever they want in the Science Club which means I get to hear about all sorts of fascinating stuff" "Rook lectured me on proper hiking technique before we left. His tips have been pretty helpful" He actually listens, man. It seems like he is deliberately packing himself with LOADS of information so he can handle any possible situation. But he listens & actually digests the information Jade rambles to him. And that's the important thing.

O H ! The never ending fun ! ! Trey is a tough nut to crack. His defence meter skyrocketed up to the space. He is like an enrichment toy for Jade. But does Jade know that Trey is accumulating plan to also get back on Jade? Maybe not as evil. Maybe not as mean. But a win, is a win! U're gonna for sure make that pouty face, Jade.

You said what you said, Trey! No takesies, backsies! Have u seen Trey in Octavinelle uniform tho??? HE LOOKS LIKE, he's AT HOME! And for sure, Jade is muffling his voice at the corner right now. ♡♡♡

Their relationship can be sweet and direct, calculated but sweet; or attached but detached at the same time. Some artists took their individuality in more serious manner. Despite how it seems, their relationship doesn't go like actual cliche. They are not foolishly in love. They have first and foremost, sound logic of what they want. I remember this image has jade holding trey's hands while walking to the direction of the sea while the waves crashes on him, saying "sorry i can't go with you". It may seem cold. But in a way it's refreshing. It is a good material for pain for us who watches them. And they are not fake. They do not pretend that love is everything above all. Despite of lacking true ability to deliver how the true treyjade love is like, these are the things that make me fall in love with them. (I may feel like i missed talking about some points after posting this, i'm sure. Because i really love them in many different ways)

Completely inspired by the steamer DamianxDanny AU

So Dani has been traveling the world for four years at this point, learning about culture.

A big part about culture is music

So Dani learned to sing and play instruments from around the world.

And she gets good.

So at the Casper High senior bonfire for graduating seniors and family (Danny and the crew) someone records her singing a mix of traditional songs from countries around the world and posts it under an anonymous account.(probably Wes)

And it goes viral.

People are begging Dani to do a song from their country.

So Dani makes an account for her singing. She wears a mask though, so no one knows her identity (it would be kinda hard to explain her lack of legal papers). The account quickly explodes in popularity.

Eventually Bruce finds it and immediately begins to track her down because the anonymous singer the Ghost (the fan base calls themselves spirits) has Lazarus green eyes.

But because Dani has no legal papers, they most he can find is Danny Fenton, who is male, 18, freshly in collage, and has the singing voice of a dump truck. He’s differently not the Ghost.

Damian notices his father struggling with a case, and decides to help by watching each and every one of the Ghosts video.

And, somewhere along the way, he ends up falling a little.

Now he wants to find Ghost to take her on a date, not interrogate her.

One day, Ghost stops posting.

The entire world is demanding for answers, enough so that the JLA gets involved.

The only person who has any information is the new leaguer Red Huntress, vigilante that protected her town for years with the help of a ghost named Phantom (who had also vanished during that time)

Dani and Danny are in major shit.

The GIW found her and Danny and promptly vanished them off the face of the earth.

The only person who has any idea that they are not dead is Duke Thomas, who was on a call with his childhood friend Danny when he and his sister was taken.

Duke Thomas is currently on the run from the GIW because he know that Danny’s and Dani Fenton didn’t die in the FentonWorks Lab explosion

i keep seeing people talk about AZ in the new trailer and be like "imagine being immortal and going from basically a king and a warlord to running a holiday inn like wow downgrade much"

"i suck at summaries": a dubiously helpful list of tips for how to do a summaries

by no means am i an expert. but in the hopes that this is helpful.

fic summaries have two main purposes:

tell a reader what the premise of your fic is in one glance, and

provide a 'hook' that convinces them to click on it.

based on those two purposes, here's what you should aim to do:

pack the key information into something that can be read while scrolling, and

make your fic stand out.

how do you do that. there are many different ways. ymmv. here are some starting points which may help if you are really, truly stuck.

details under the cut. in summary:

know your premise

keep it short and sharp

demonstrate your style

1: can you describe your premise in maximum three lines?

fewer is better. im not saying your summary has to BE fewer than three lines, you just need to be able to describe the premise as concisely as possible. not the whole fic. not everything that happens. just your premise.

being able to condense your ideas this way will improve your understanding of the work and make it easier to summarise.

sometimes it's a bit hard to isolate what exactly your premise is, especially if you were just writing into the void. so here are some questions you can ask yourself to figure it out:

what was the idea that spurred you to write the fic?

what is the climactic action in the fic?

if the fic is an au, canon divergence, what if, etc - what is the point of difference between this and canon?

if the fic is based around a trope, a genre, a particular device - how did you apply it, what makes the work familiar, and what makes it different?

this is important, because:

2: brevity is the soul of wit

now that you know your premise, it's time to jazz it up. turn it into a one-liner or similarly catchy pitch. give it a makeover.

it doesn't have to be literally one line. however, do not make your summary super long. do not make either your summary or your tags a massive block of text. the reader is scrolling. they have not yet decided to invest time in your fic.

the ideal summary is stylish and concise. your reader should be able to take it in without pausing for too long. it gives them a good impression of you: you know how to be economical with your sentences, which means your writing is probably easy and enjoyable to read.

and on that note:

3: including an excerpt is always an option

an optional option. but if you're stuck, it's a free card to play.

readers want to know that your writing style matches what they like to read. showing off your style can help you stand out to an interested reader.

try and find a few lines which are representative of the premise, representative of your style, and sufficiently intriguing. an excerpt is a try before you buy. you just wrote a whole fic. you want people to read the whole fic and enjoy your work. so show them what you have to offer.

what is an example, postmaker

look im not more qualified to give this advice than anyone else, but here's what i do if it helps. i typically pick out a short excerpt and include a short pitch underneath it. that way the reader knows what i sound like and what the fic is about.

here is a baldur's gate 3 fic summary

shadowheart says, “kill l–” “not lae’zel, darling, it’s too obvious. in fact, both of you are banned from killing each other.” astarion thinks for a moment. “in the game, at least.” -- the gang plays fuck, marry, kill.

this fic has a basic premise and hinges on dialogue, so i picked some sample dialogue to demonstrate what my grasp on the character dynamics looks like and then added one line to explain what the fic is about.

here is a death note fic summary (death note spoilers) (i guess)

The night Ryuzaki dies, L appears in Light's bed. -- (every night when light goes to sleep, his dreams place him in a romantic relationship with his newly-dead rival. it makes him sick.)

this fic has a more abstract premise, so i picked a short excerpt to demonstrate what the tone of the fic is (a bit mysterious). then i added two lines: just enough information to explain what the catalyst of the fic is, but no more than that, so that the reader will be intrigued.

here is a persona 5 fic summary

Ren grins. “You want me to date Goro?” “Pretend-date Goro,” Ann corrects. “And make his crush jealous.” “This is not going to work,” Goro says. “Sure, I’ll do it,” says Ren, still grinning. He does his own rendition of Ann’s eyelash bat. “Go out with me, Goro-kun?” “I’m older than you, so show me a little respect,” Goro says crossly. “Our relationship is off to a bad start, Ren-kun.” -- (or: what not to do when you're fake-dating your real crush.)

this fic is based on a premise everyone knows well (fake-dating trope), so i picked dialogue that samples the tone of the fic and of the key relationship so that readers can decide if i write the dynamic in a way they personally vibe with. then i added a line to tell them what the trope is, so that fake-dating trope enjoyers know that's what it is.

it's only happened once or twice with each of them, only when they're on the brink and safe enough for price to let himself soften

the first time it happens to soap is on his first demo mission as a corporal; the first time he's been in charge of the planning the rig and the first time he’s close enough to see the human fallout of the explosion he worked so hard on and realises how often it means a slow and messy death

he knows they're the enemy; knows if it wasn't them, it would be him, then the long line of civilians at his back that he stands so strong to protect. he knows that

but that doesn't stop the screaming echoing in his mind, doesn't rid the memory of burning bodies trying to crawl away from their signed deaths

signed by him

he's sitting on the concrete outside the barracks, trying to get the cold to leech the remnants of the fire from his blood that his ice cold shower couldn’t douse. he jumps at the feel of a leg pressing against his side and looks up at price as he leans back against the wall, his hands cupped around a cigarette

soap flinches at the sparks coming from his lighter and looks away, his knees creeping up tighter to his chest

"it gets easier," price rumbles above him, exhaling a long breath and the comforting acrid scent of smoke spills around him

he shifts uneasily and pretends it's not to get closer. "i don't think that makes me feel better, sir,” he admits

"never said it would," he shrugs with the ease of a man who's had this same conversation a hundred times and will have it a hundred more. "just that it does."

soap sniffles then growls at himself, harshly scraping his wrist over his face

a light weight drops on his head and he stifles a gasp as price's hat falls low over his reddened eyes, hiding him from the prying gaze of the world

"you'll be alright, son," he promises and soap's lips tremble. he presses them tight together and follows price's hand as he guides his face into the side of his knee, cupping his jaw and holding him close as he shakes apart

"you'll be alright."

gaz doesn't crave softness when he messes up; doesn't want forgiveness or assurance. he wants blood; blood shed for blood that shouldn't have been lost

the punching bag is shining by the time price walks into the gym; shining yet also muted where his blood’s had the time to dry and stain, his knuckles torn to shreds

gaz' fist almost slips off the bag and he clicks his tongue. "you gonna keep makin' that a biohazard or do you want to do something actually worthwhile?"

his lip kicks up in a snarl and he sends a glare over his shoulder. "what?"

"think medical's got enough bodies, don't you?" he asks and a dangerous stillness fills the air

gaz shoves off the bag, knuckles dripping onto the mats. "you wanna add one more?"

price quirks an eyebrow, so nonchalant that it just makes him angrier; blood boiling in his veins. "come on, then."

he stalks onto the sparring mats and price barely blinks before he's attacking; throwing wild punches, eyes a hundred miles away

back in beirut

where they had to pull their team out in pieces because gaz missed the suicide bomber launching himself out of the rubble

price dodges each desperate strike, loose and sloppy and nowhere near gaz’ usual level of skill. he doesn't hit back once and gaz' faces twists with each miss, sweat flying off him as his grunts turn into growls, turn into screams as he throws himself at him

price ducks and snatches his hat off his head, slapping it into gaz' face to blind him and drives him back into the mats

he gags as his lungs seize, his air is forced out of him; leaving him to heave harsh breaths that stick in the fabric of the hat. the humid dark closes in on him, forcing him to focus on his breaths so he doesn't throw up or pass out; forcing him to stay within his body instead of drowning in another country

price's hand is heavy behind it, keeping it trapped over his face. "are you done?" he asks, not even breathless

gaz pants, his whole body tingling, and his fingers dig harder into his face

"are you done?" he insists

he swallows dry, suddenly aware of the exhaustion sapping at his limbs, the pain in his hands, the tightness in his throat. "i'm done," he rasps

price relaxes but doesn't remove his hand or push him to get up. they sit on the mats for a while, price's weight and the dark anchoring gaz to the here and now

contrary to popular belief, ghost doesn't hate family days

he doesn't glare at the droves of civilians entering the base, doesn't stand as a spectre of death and grief over the rookies running into the arms of their families on one of the most important days of their career. he doesn't begrudge the safety and love they feel from coddling mothers and embarrassingly proud fathers, from laughing siblings and sticky-fingered children

he remembers his own graduation too well to want to take it from them

he stands in his dress blues through the speeches, his neck gaiter hiding less than he'd like but at ease with the compromise he and price reached. he looks over the tearful family members as name after name gets called, takes careful note of the ones who are clapped for less than the others, and lines up with the other officers as they wait for the tap out

one by one, the graduates get released by their loved ones; no longer standing attention as a recruit but embracing them as a private

just as he's done every year, ghost checked their records to ensure they all had someone coming for them; he's never let a single one stand in the field waiting for someone who will never come. it's rare that his diligence is necessary but he's never let them feel any shame for it; telling them to keep their heads high as he pats their shoulder

he's not needed today and he watches as they're slowly released and disperse, all with a reminder of why they've worked so hard and who they’re here to protect

it's quiet on base that night; soldiers take any chance to celebrate and a graduation is nothing to sneeze at. ghost stands out in the field, out in the gentle quiet. his hands sit folded behind him as he looks up at the stars and he doesn't flinch as a voice sounds behind him

"been a long time since you could be called a rookie," price says, falling into place beside him

ghost hums. "longer for you, i’d say."

he huffs a laugh. "cheeky shite," he snickers. "that hasn't changed; bloody twig of a thing too big for his boots, angry at the world and ready to prove it wrong."

"plenty changed to make up for it," he huffs, his breath disturbing his gaiter

"lot more's stayed the same," price counters and steps in front of him, a mischievous gleam in his eyes as he squares his shoulders

"lieutenant riley," he starts and ghost almost rolls his eyes. "you've shown exemplary courage in the face of adversity, gone above and beyond the call of duty and expressed great leadership in your dedication to your team and the men in your charge. congratulations, soldier; you've earned it."

ghost swallows thickly and refuses to admit to the shine threatening his eyes. "thank you, sir."

price smiles and plucks his hat off his head, placing it on his and pats his head; brushing his thumb over his temple

"come on, son; you've waited long enough."

Oh look, it's that time of the year again :'D (how tf did that happen??) Anyway, hm. Mental health-wise this year was the worst in quite some time for me, so for some months I literally only had one, maybe two finished pieces to choose from. BUT on the plus side I'm fairly happy with most of the drawings I did finish, so that's good! I'll just focus on that, and on all the things I still want to improve on in the future. Here's to hoping 2025 will be less rough, and a little kinder, to all of us :)

told from the perspectives of our hero besties sol and xenia :)

split into a two-parter for convenience, as this...got a lot a bit lengthier than i had initially expected. you know how it goes LOL. but i am SO excited to finally, officially share it with you all (and super excited to share the mock comic cover as well. had a blast doing it)!!

some names here may be a bit familiar...and some may not! i'll keep it short, but here's some explanation and context under the cut (completely optional to read! just thought it may help supplement the story if needed). i still need to draw Official designs for a lot of these guys, so keep an eye out for those too, eventually!!

a little world and character glossary:

Gestalt- The name of the primary city in which the main story takes place. named after the Gestalt principles of psychology! something something the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Surely that means nothing for our hero team...

Mutants vs. Magic Users- A very minor part of this chapter, but still introduced. All powered supers (well, aside from Sol) have either biological or magical origins for their powers. Now, who's what is something (mostly) yet to be revealed!

Boomsday- One of the henchmen introduced in this chapter! His whole gimmick is based off of how some of the concept designs for Guilt involve him carrying around a giant backpack.

Doppel Danger- The other half of the henchmen in the first fight sequence. Not much to say here for him yet, except that he's based off of the scrapped emotion Doubt!

Janelle- Of Dream Productions fame! She's a hero talk show host here!

Jean- Sigh...of Dream Productions...infamy. Chief department editor of Hero Affairs, which also means she's both Jane and Sammy's boss. Fun!

Gretchen- ??? Supposedly, she's Sammy's boss. And Jean's boss. a higher-up of the higher-up. We have yet to truly meet her... 😳

Tally- My own mind worker oc LOLLL. She's one of Xenia's college professors.

Anj- A newbie Hero Affairs reporter. She's actually a scrapped mind worker character from the second movie! You can find her concept design (along with Gail, the next entry) here.

Gail- Captain of the Magical Interference and Neutralization Division (MIND) of the Gestalt Police Department. So basically a fancy cop LMAO. I wonder what their deal is...

MIND- As mentioned above, the Magical Interference and Neutralization Division! They're a branch of the police department that focus on taking down magic-based villains and threats.

Old Lady Who Crossed the Street in Part 1- ...I think we all know who this is. ABDHKJKGDA

PHEW okay, that should be all the major stuff, but i'm always open to answering questions on any other details! i've got some more major story stuff in the works as well, but. gonna take it easy with that for a little bit LOL. but THANK YOU SO MUCH to anyone who made it this far. i'm surprised how much support this au has gotten, how much that's inspired me to keep creating, and it means the world!! you guys make it all worth it.
